Maybe I can think of something nice to do with this.

Okay peoples who don't actually exist- I think it might be time to return to my easily ignored and, let's be honest, uselessish blog.

I'm taking classes
if this begins to be totally about mass media and, perhaps, marketing, it means that I am writing essays for my classes and posting them here for my own sense of narcissistic gratification. if it does not, you can be pretty certain that i have changed my mind about taking classes.

Happy HumanLight!
You could include any or all of the following things at a HumanLight celebration:
- Some kind of meal - a potluck dinner is a popular choice.
- A candle-lighting ceremony.
- Short readings (e.g. excerpts from the writings of Robert Ingersoll).
- Educational entertainment for children. One recent event included a professional science demonstration for kids. Some other events featured magicians--who then revealed how their tricks were done.
- Short talks or discussions.
- Comedy skits and other forms of levity (e.g. HumanLight "MadLibs" Page 1 Page 2 ).
- A White Elephant Gift Exchange.
- Music and song. Original HumanLight songs have been written by Sonny meadows and Sara Brown, and are available on request. Try something from The Humanist Hymnal or the Anthology of Humanist Songs.
- Dancing: ballroom and/or contemporary.
- Video excerpts from programs such as Evolution, Cosmos, Contact or other films and television programs.
- Hand out (or sell) copies of the Affirmation of Humanism for Kids Coloring Books for children.

mumbler
I wonder from time to time who takes care of 'the mumbler,' the ever so dirty hobo on my block who yells about kennedy and jews and vietnam and bitches (i think he means everybody) when i pass by him. I've never seen him leave the block, and he is often really confrontational, but ultimately harmless i think. But what is funny is the warmth the retailers have for him. He's friends with the hip kid at the corner market-porn shop, the short man at the smoke shop who always says 'be safe' as i leave, and now, at kid valley, the guy behind the counter just gave him a newspaper, about which he is mumbling to himself, (and me?) it's funny. I've felt a certain warmth toward him once as he screamed crazy at a line of frat boys in front of pesos.
There is an emergency shelter set up in our cafeteria as a result of a storm related power outage. It's kind of cool that BCC is able to do that. But we had a New Student Orientation planned in the cafeteria building, so i am standing out in the cold to redirect new students to the new location and away from the ''emergency shelter for people with special health needs.'' There have been no students so far. This is so dumb. I kinda love it though.
